What?!?! It did...yeah, yeah all right, I admit it, I love classical music ^^; (don't see a problem with it) and not everybody likes it I know. But I can't believe there was NOT a stamp that was something like this on here, so...there you go.

Seriously though, whevever you hear the likes of stuff from Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Brahms etc. and you hear it elsewhere, you know you just want to find out and hear it to get into it.

When was the first time I heard "Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss? From an old Looney Tunes short: Corny Concerto

Where did I first hear the "Hungarian Dances no.5" by Brahms? Another Looney Tunes short entitled "Pigs In A Polka"

Where did I first learn the names of composers such as Tchaikovsky, Paul Dukas, Beethoven, Igor Stravinsky? From Walt Disney's best classic movie (in my opinion): "Fantasia", easily it was this film that got me into classical music more, just depending on the pieces and composers, on the other hand maybe it was just the cartoons I watched.

Surely you've heard classical pieces in cartoons that are familliar and you're thinking "OH where have I heard that before?"

Wow, I can even remember back when I was like...11 years old watching South Park one Friday night (5 January 2000, FACT and truth) and later on, you hear a similar little piece playing like twice in the episode and since then I remembered asking myself "Damn what is that tune?" and I was asking myself that till a few years later I got a reply by somebody through email on the specific piece, awesomeness right there.

So if you do know any of these pieces, look'em up online to see if you're right, but it's definately the cartoons that started off my love and education for this genre of music, classical needs love too you know

I have no idea if I commented here before, but that is so true! In The Magic School Bus they had the William Tell Overture and Zarathustra, and What's Opera Doc from the Loony Tunes is essentially a five minute condensation of the entire Ring Cycle
